Diamond Heights is a neighborhood situated high above the Noe Valley to the north and the Glen Canyon to the south, displaying some of the most magnificent views of the city. It is usually said to be an obscure gem by its residents.

Diamond Heights is a serene, harmonious residential neighborhood. It was developed in the 1960s. The streets are interconnected by fascinating stairways which are cloaked by trees and provides sharp, arduous shortcuts ad magnificent views. Diamond Heights has the intimate feel of a suburb within San Francisco city limits. It consists of single-family homes, stucco bungalows, and midcentury contemporary residences (including the esteemed Eichlers constructed on seven distinct floor plans). There is a local pocket park at Billy Goat Hill that affords impressive scenery to its guests.

From Diamond Heights, Noe Valley is a quick stroll, and downtown San Francisco is a short drive from the neighborhood. Shopping in Diamond Heights is limited to a retail center on Diamond Heights Boulevard and a commercial district on Portola Drive in the middle of Diamond Heights Boulevard and O’Shaughnessy Boulevard.
