Lakeside is located in the middle of 19th Avenue (Highway 1) and Junipero Serra Boulevard. It provides the locals with easy entry to the Stonestown Galleria Mall and other commercial shopping streets. Lakeside is a more or less lengthy and slender region of San Francisco, close to the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Beach.

Lakeside is also in close proximity to numerous well-kept golf courses including the world renowned Olympic Club, the San Francisco Golf Club and the TPC Harding Park Golf Club which all encircle Lake Merced. The neighborhood is tranquil and picturesque. It is also the abode of the San Francisco State University and City College of San Francisco Ocean Campus.
